Do you want to join a global group of SSI Explorers as they learn about the marvels of the underwater world. As part of your experience, you will learn fascinating facts about our oceans as a Blue Oceans Explorer. You will also learn new skills and practice with new equipment as an SSI Snorkel Explorer. After finishing these programs, your next adventure is up to you!

What if you could explore the ocean while still being able to breathe? You can—it is called scuba diving!

Like Snorkel Explorers, scuba divers wear a mask, snorkel, fins, and a wetsuit. Scuba divers also use some unique equipment that helps them breathe underwater, adjust their buoyancy, and track information during their dive.

As a Scuba Explorer, you can enjoy the thrill of scuba diving in a swimming pool or a confined water site while learning new skills, like clearing your mask and regulator and learning how to communicate underwater. It is so much fun!

Prerequisites:

All Explorer programs except Scuba Explorer: 6 years old

Scuba Explorer: 8 years old

Swim 12 meters/40 feet without any swim or buoyancy aids.
