Are you certified to do decompression diving? Then we are where you need to be. We offer a 4 hour diving session (including travel time) with an Extended Range Instructor. You plan your dive, we verify it and blend the gases for it and accompany you on your decompression dive. Gases are an additional fee, but they are priced as affordably as possible.
What Is a Decompression Dive?
A decompression dive is a type of scuba diving that involves staying underwater for a longer period of time than a standard dive. This is achieved by making multiple stops at different depths, allowing the body to gradually release absorbed nitrogen and prevent decompression sickness.
How Decompression Dives are Conducted
To ensure a safe dive, decompression dives are carefully planned and executed. The diver must follow a strict dive profile, making stops at predetermined depths for specific periods of time, to allow the body to release absorbed nitrogen. Additionally, the diver must carry enough air to complete the entire dive, including the required decompression stops.
Why Utila is a Popular Destination for Decompression Dives
Utila is a small island in Honduras that is known for its clear waters and abundant marine life. It is also a popular destination for decompression dives, offering opportunities to explore shipwrecks, caves, and other underwater structures at greater depths. The warm water temperatures and relatively low cost of diving in Utila make it an attractive destination for experienced divers looking to extend their bottom time.
